A TEENAGER is in hospital after taking a so-called legal high.
The 16-year-old boy smoked a psycho-active substance known as White Widow, which he bought on the internet.
At 12pm today, he was taken to Southampton General Hospital after he began fitting after taking the substance.
He has since recovered, but is being kept in for 24 hours for observation.
White Widow looks like herbal cannabis, but does not smell like the drug.
Inspector Phil Lamb said: “Young people and adults must make themselves aware of the health risks involved in using such psycho-active substances.
“Parents, too, must be aware and vigilant. At the very least, they should make themselves aware of the dangers and talk to their children about them.”
Last year, teenager Adam Hunt died after he consumed a legal high he had bought on the internet.
