A POST-mortem conducted on a baby who died at her Isle of Wight home has proved inconclusive.
Ten-month-old Jodie Sullivan-Kearns was found unconscious at a property in Hazel Close, Ventnor, by an ambulance crew who were called to the property at 1am on Wednesday.
Jodie was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Newport where she was pronounced dead shortly after 2am.
A Home Office pathologist carried out a post mortem examination at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, but the results are inconclusive.
Further investigations are being carried out and police expect to have more information later next week.
A 36-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were arrested on Wednesday morning as part of the inquiry into the baby's death and have now been released on police bail.
Pauline and Ian Kearns, Jodie's paternal grandparents, said in a statement: "We are all totally devastated at the loss of our granddaughter Jodie. She was a beautiful little girl who brought so much joy in her short life. She will be sadly missed by us all."
