The dreams and aspirations of Southampton's civic leaders who have collectively produced their vision for the city in 20 years' time IF IT all came together it would make Southamp-ton the most desirable place to live in the UK.

Internationally recognised and envied for its sea links, a thriving place to work or run a dynamic business, good standards of housing, a booming economy, a fascinating heritage at your fingertips and one of the greatest city centres and shopping facilities on the south coast.

A place where residents were happy, neighbourhoods were safe, crime was at an all-time low, numbers of teenage pregnancies were slashed and which was recognised globally as a place of excellence, learning and development.

A talent magnet which keeps hold of its younger generations and, at the same time, a city where everyone else wants to live and work - a place that offers everything in arts and culture, diverse communities which all like and respect each other and some of the most iconic buildings that become British landmarks.

It's the dreams and aspirations of Southampton's leaders who have collectively produced their "vision" of the city in 20 years' time.

The 2026 strategy, created by Southampton Partnership, is a blueprint that will see the city become the major city in southern England, with an international reputation that is second to none.
