A HAMPSHIRE teenager has told of the moment when he thought he was going to be stabbed if he did not hand over his new mountain bike.
Fifteen-year-old Craig Frampton had been cycling back from Fareham to his Lock's Heath home when the robber stole the bike which had been an early Christmas present.
Craig, who was with two friends, had gone into Fareham to get the suspension pumped up on the bike. His return trip turned to terror when a man rode at him on a bicycle, nearly knocking him off his bike.
Craig said: "He grabbed me around the throat and pushed me up against a wall. He told me to get off my bike. I did not bother at first but then he said 'If you do not get off your bike I will stab you'."
Although no knife was produced, Craig was not taking any chances. After the robbery, Craig immediately rang the police.
Craig now has a new bike but after his ordeal he is still rather wary about going out in the dark.
Police have issued an e-fit image of the wanted man, pictured below. He was white, aged 16 to 19, 5ft 8in, of slim build, with a slim face, clean shaven, with quite big ears, a spotty face, and short brown hair that was flat on the top.
He was wearing a cream Henri Lloyd jacket, dark blue tracksuit trousers with a thin white line down the leg, and white Reebok trainers.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened on Wednesday, December 20, at about 5pm, at the junction of The Avenue with Peak Lane, near the Oast and Squire pub, can call Fareham police on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
