CULT classics are coming to a cinema near you as part of the annual Winchester Film Festival which runs until Sunday.
Cinema-lovers will have the chance to watch both recent box office hits and some of their favourite oldies in unusual venues across the city.
This year the University of Winchester’s school of media and film has organised eight screenings including The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the cathedral and classic Ealing comedy The Ladykillers at a High Street bank.
Three of the eight films scheduled during this popular event have already sold out.
Now in its fifth year, the notfor- profit event matches well known flicks with atmospheric locations – with funds raised going to charity. The main beneficiary in 2014 will be the Blue Apple Theatre, while proceeds from the screening in Lloyds Bank will go to the Alzheimer’s Society.
The full Winchester Film Festival 2014 programme is available at winchesterfilmfest.com. Tickets cost £5 and can be booked on the website.
