THE Railway Inn's Comedy Night returns to Winchester on January 28 with truly unique comedian Steve Day filling the headline slot.
A favourite at venues across the UK and abroad, Steve, pictured, Britain's only deaf comedian, is quickly establishing himself as one of the most popular and respected acts on the circuit.
Warm, witty and engaging while dealing with the dilemmas of being a deaf man in a hearing world, his stories of multiple children, wearing a suit and the problems caused by not knowing how words are pronounced will have audiences in raptures.
Described as "revelatory and very funny" by The Guardian, "warm, funny, frank and thought-provoking" by The Scotsman and in possession of "a self-effacing charm" by comedians' website Chortle, Steve has become a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4, contributing regularly to You and Yours, featuring in a half-hour special of No Triumph, No Tragedy and starring alongside Caroline Quentin and Patricia Routledge in The Sound Barrier.
Steve was also a staff writer on BBC Radio 2's long-running The News Huddlines and has appeared on numerous TV shows.
The Railway Inn's Comedy Night also features sets from Leanne Diggins and Tony Dunn.
