COUNCILLORS have approved development of four new homes in Winchester despite objections.
The Rooksacre site, near Osborne School, will see the existing building demolished and the site redeveloped to include parking, cycle and refuse storage.
Winchester City Council received seven letters objecting to the plans, saying the building would be out of character, intrusive, and oppressive to the current housing.
The Winchester City Council planning committee meeting also heard resident’s concerns about the junction between Worthy Road and Lankhills Road, inadequate off-road parking, construction impacts and loss of privacy.
Despite a split vote, the move was approved.
