FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Southampton home to tackle a blaze caused by burnt toast.
Crews from St Mary’s fire station were called to Hillside Avenue, Bitterne, at 9pm yesterday but the blaze was already out when they arrived.
The two crews opened windows to ventilate the property and checked that the 60-year-old’s fire alarms were working.
Nobody was hurt.
