A MUM-of-five died after suffering a heart attack in hospital, an inquest heard.
Sylvia Adams had been admitted to Southampton General Hospital on February 20 last year after having a stroke.
The 71-year-old went home two weeks later but was then readmitted on March 19. Her condition worsened and she died on July 22.
During the inquest her family expressed concerns over her care and the fact that Sylvia, who had been prone to falling, had fallen twice during the four months she was in hospital.
However, after hearing the post-mortem results, Southampton coroner Keith Wiseman said: “It was a natural cause she died of, not from the fall, and so the only possible verdict I can recall is one of death from natural causes.”
After the inquest her family paid tribute to the great-grandmother, of Sholing, Southampton.
Her daughter Julie Whyte, also of Sholing, said: “She was larger than life and the one the whole family went to for everything.
“She was lively, strong-willed, and everyone knew her.”
