A NEW scheme at Brockenhurst College hopes to give learners the skills they need to succeed in their careers, and businesses the staff they need to expand.

Working in partnership with the Learning and Skills Council in Dorset, the Train to Gain scheme offers training in business administration, health and social care, hospitality and retail.

Cross-sector training is also available in customer service, team-leading and ICT. NVQ training is free.

Derek Mather, director of life-long learning at the college, said: "We are pleased to be delivering this groundbreaking service.

"Brockenhurst College's Action for Business status confirms our commitment to providing high-quality responsive training.

"Train to Gain presents another opportunity for us to respond to businesses' exact skills and training requirements."

The courses are available now, but there are limits on the free training available.
