Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) recorded a total of 127 incidents last year- a ten per cent increase on 2005 and it's busiest year on record.
The volunteer organisation also had its busiest month in its 38-year history last July when it responded to 35 calls in the Solent.
The same month also saw its busiest day on record with a total of 10 incidents on July 31.
The findings were published in the GAFIRS annual 2006 report.
John Lee, Vice President of Gafirs, said: "We are proud of the service we provide but of course we are dealing with people's misfortune. We would like to see that no one has any problems at sea but like traffic accidents they occasionally happen.
"It's a very busy area of the sea and there will always be problems by the very nature of the Solent. When there are that many boats out there many of them will want assistance."
