A GALA race night raised more than £3,500 for a children’s ward at Southampton General Hospital.
Visitors to the Grand Cafe at South Western House in Terminus Terrace put on their glad-rags and money on horses with all proceeds going towards the Ben Voller G4 Fund.
Ben Voller died in September 2004 on the G4 Ward at the Southampton General Hospital after developing a malignant tumour through genetic disorder Von Recklinghausen’s neurofibromotosis.
In 2005 his family set up the fund to raise money for sick children with the cash spent on the equipment and facilities needed by doctors and nurses.
