A CHARITY for the blind has benefitted from a Romsey estate agent’s cash donation.
Jonathan Rees’s 2013 charity was Guide Dogs UK and the estate agent’s senior lettings negotiator Nick Harris has just handed £250 to the charity. He presented the cheque to Bernard Stagg and Malcolm McKay.
Both Bernard and Malcolm are blind and have guide dogs. Bernard’s is called Dixon and Malcolm’s is named Phoenix.
Nick said: “I nominated the Guide Dogs as our chosen charity for 2013 as a friend of Bernard’s.
“I have raised money for Guide Dogs before when I ran the London Marathon.”
Bernard, 72, has been blind since birth and is an official street collector for Guide Dogs UK. He said: “This will help go towards somebody in the area to get a guide dog, which is an essential aid for people with sight problems and we are very grateful for this money."
