A WORLD record held by a Hampshire school is under threat from a UK theme park today.
Ringwood School set the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed in onesies in February when 1,184 people took part.
But Drayton Manor Theme Park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, claims 3,152 people turned up in the outfits today, more than tripling Ringwood’s effort.
The attempt will be authenticated by Guinness World Records before being made official.
Managing director Colin Bryan said: ''The atmosphere today has been electric and for the second year running the weather has been in our favour.
''Seeing such a huge crowd gathered in their onesies was quite a spectacle, and there were some very interesting styles.
''It's a fantastic achievement to reclaim our record from last year, as well as set the new record too.
''It has certainly been a memorable occasion that we hope everyone has enjoyed being a part of.''
The theme park also set a new record for longest scream by a crowd, maintaining 80 decibels for eight minutes and 45 seconds, smashing the previous record of two minutes and five seconds.
