A MAN died from a heart attack just three weeks after he was involved in a motorcycle accident.
An inquest heard how Roger Farley was rushed to Southampton General Hospital after crashing into a metal fence at the side of the A34, at the junction with Filmore Lane at West Meon Hut, on May 25.
It is thought the 71-year-old from Linden Lea, in Portchester, had lost control of his Honda ST1100L motorbike as he tried to avoid a collision with a van.
Mr Farley, who was described by family as an experienced and safe motorcyclist, had been recovering in hospital for 16 days when he suffered a heart attack. He died three days later on June 13.
The inquest heard that he had suffered from an underlying heart condition for a number of years which, combined with the road traffic collision, caused a heart attack.
Central Hampshire coroner Grahame Short recorded a determination of death due to a road traffic collision.
