A WOMAN is in a critical condition following a head-on collision on a major Hampshire road.
Police are appealing for witnesses after two cars collided head-on on the B3054 between Norley Wood Road and Boldre Road at around 11.10am today.
A woman in her 60s, who was driving a Renault Scenic heading towards Beaulieu, was involved in a collision with a silver Honda Civic travelling in the opposite direction.
A total of 21 firefighters from Lymington, New Milton, and Redbridge fire stations, along with one senior officer, dealt with the collision.
They managed to extract two people from two vehicles.
The woman in her 60s was taken to Southampton General Hospital and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The man and the woman travelling in the Honda are also being treated in hospital, but their condition is not known.
The road is currently closed in both directions near to the incident and is expected to remain closed until mid-afternoon.
