HAMPSHIRE churchgoers will spend tonight under canvas to raise money for charity.
Parishioners from St Christopher’s Church in Thornhill, Southampton, organised the sponsored camp to raise money for Christian Aid’s Syria Crisis Appeal.
Campers will wake up on Easter morning to a 5.45am service on Hinkler Green and a hearty breakfast.
Chris O’Brien, lay minister for the church, said: “I felt that many refugees from Syria would be pleased to have a tent for the night and so I challenged members of the congregation to join me in spending one night under canvas.
“We hope that refugees from Syria will benefit from our uncomfortable night!"
