THIS is the man police want your help in tracing after burglars posing as police officers ransacked a home in Southampton.
Three criminals are said to have been involved in the burglary after convincing the householder to let them into the property.
They stole jewellery, bank cards and mobile phones before fleeing in a silver M-type BMW.
The early morning burglary happened in Lisbon Road, Shirley, and police are hoping new CCTV footage which has just been released could help lead them to the bogus officers.
And it has also prompted a warning to residents to be wary of cold-callers and always ask to see identification and if necessary call the organisation to check before letting anyone in.
One of the men involved in the burglary is described as black, 35 to 40 years old and wore a green or yellow fluorescent jacket and black trousers.
The second man was of Asian appearance, tall, and wore a dark blue long-sleeved top with dark jeans.
The third burglar was also of Asian appearance, shorter than the other two and wore a black, long-sleeved top with a green basketball-style vest over the top.
Detective Constable Martin Brewer said: “Did you see three men fitting these descriptions in the area of Lisbon Road or did you see a silver BMW parked nearby? We’d like to hear from you if you have information which may help us.”
Anyone with information about the burglary, which happened between 5.30am and 7.30am on April 5, should call Det Con Brewer at Shirley CID on 101.
