ENTRIES have opened for a charity event that will have people running, canoeing and cycling around the Isle of Wight.
As the Wightlink Wight Challenge celebrates its tenth birthday, organisers are calling for teams to sign up to cycle 19 miles, canoe two miles and run eight miles this September.
The challenge will help raise money for Sail 4 Cancer which supports families affected by cancer, The Rainbow Centre which supports children with cerebral palsy and adults who have Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis or have suffered a stroke, and Wessex Heartbeat’s Heartbeat House, which provides a place to stay for relatives of cardiac patients being treated at Southampton General Hospital.

Since the event started in 2004 it has raised more than £191,900 for charity, including £31,022 last year.
The event takes place on September 20 at the Jersey Camp in Porchfield. For more information, call 07855 022 429 or visit wightchallenge.co.uk.
