Community groups join forces to save benefits and employment service
COMMUNITY groups have joined forces to save a benefits and employment help service in Hampshire.
The Southampton Advice Representation Centre (SARC) lost its funding this year, but has found new premises with the help of Plus You Ltd and Thornhill Community Association (TCA).
Funds were donated by the TCA and a local resident so that the service can run for at least another year, while Plus You, a Thornhill-based charity, is offering the service discounted rent in the Hinkler Community Centre for two hours each Thursday.
The service providing advice on benefits and employment has operated in Thornhill for 20 years.
