BOOKWORMS can pick up their next read for free.
A “Books for Free” pop-up shop has just opened in Abbey Walk, Church Street, Romsey.
Organised by recycling and healthy living charity Heathy Planet, volunteers at the temporary shop are handing out up to three second-hand books per person, holding talks and workshops and reading stories to children.
The shop will take donations of books, videos, CDs and games.
The scheme gives away 300,000 books a year and aims to create community hubs and reduce the number of books being dumped in landfill sites.
