A SOUTHAMPTON man has been spared an immediate jail term after stealing hundreds of pounds of cosmetics and other goods from two Hampshire stores.
Mark Dainty, 33, pleaded guilty to stealing £354 of cosmetics and electric toothbrushes valued at £59.99 from Lloyds Pharmacy in Totton at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.
Dainty, from Meggeson Avenue, also pleaded guilty to stealing £64.96 of fragrances from TK Maxx in Southampton.
Magistrates sentenced him to a total of 20 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and ordered him to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
He must also remain under curfew at his home between 6pm and 6am for a year, and be electronically monitored.
