GENEROUS donors from across Hampshire have helped to get aid to more than 82,000 disaster victims worldwide during the past 12 months.
Rotary clubs including Southampton, Lymington, the New Forest, Winchester, Chandler's Ford and Itchen Valley raised money in aid of Cornwall-based charity ShelterBox, which sends emergency accommodation and survival essentials such as mosquito nets, blankets, stoves and tools to disaster victims worldwide.
The charity helped earthquake victims in Kashmir, people displaced by volcanic eruptions in Ecuador and Papua New Guinea, flooding victims in East Africa and thousands made homeless following the bombing of southern Lebanon.
Tom Henderson, ShelterBox founder and general manager, said: "Local Rotary clubs have played an extremely important role in making our work possible."
