SOUTHAMPTON Airport was spruced up thanks to this dedicated group.
Workers at the airport tidied up roadsides, bushes, pavements and car parks ahead of the summer season.
They discovered old traffic cones, an eight foot piece of wood and metal stakes and also raised more than £100 for Sophie’s Appeal as the airport donated cash to the Hampshire charity for every bag of rubbish collected.
Luke Mosley, airport duty manager and organiser of the clean-up, said: “It’s the first time we’ve run an event like this and we’re really pleased with the amount of volunteers we attracted.
“Everyone cares deeply about keeping the airport spick and span. With the added motivation of raising cash for charity it encouraged people to get stuck in with gusto.”
