A COLOURFUL public art event comes to Winchester High Street next Tuesday.
March for Optimism, devised by local artist Peter Driver, invites everyone to wear brightly coloured clothes to come along and join in the procession on May 6 at 4.15pm outside Marks and Spencer.
The parade will be documented by photographers, the results of which will be displayed as part of Mr Driver’s Fine Art degree at the Winchester School of Art between June 16-22.
“This is not a protest,” he said. “But an art project involving the most diverse crowd I can muster in a procession to acknowledge, and maybe celebrate, the existence of optimism, despite all the reasons for pessimism.”
