AN Alresford secondary school is offering more places following the completion of a multi-million-pound new maths block.
Perins School says that a limited number of extra places will be available for Year 7 students from September.
The new maths block, due to open in June, provides eight new classrooms, releasing the pressure on class sizes.
While the initial allocation of places for September has been completed, Perins can take new applications for pupils still seeking a place.
Head teacher Janice Bernard said: “The new maths block's development has enabled Perins to consider additional applications from September, which we hope will help many students in their school choice.
“We often find that some students, for a number of reasons, are still seeking places well into the summer months, which can be very distressing.
“We are keen to hear from any students that would like to be considered for these extra places at Perins.”
The school is planning a grand opening of the new block in early June and would like to invite Year 5 and 6 students and parents to go along and see this latest addition to the school.
