It was a case of seventh time lucky for a Winchester architect. Planning permission has been given for a new two-bedroom house in a Winchester street some seven years after the scheme was first proposed.
Michael Culhane and Snug Projects first put forward the plan in 2007 but have been rebuffed six times before city council planners finally approved the plans for Monks Road, Hyde.
In all there have been eight planning applications and three appeals for the home on the site of a double garage. The scheme attracted opposition from neighbours but Paul Bulkeley, of Snug Projects, said the issues had been addressed.
