MOTORISTS are facing long delays after a crash involving five cars on a Hampshire motorway.
Firefighters are on the scene trying to free two people who were trapped in his car following the collision on the M27 westbound.
Three cars, a black Mercedes, a grey BMW 5 Series and a silver Volvo, were involved in the initial crash between junctions three and four just before Rownhams Services, at around 6.20pm.
But a further two cars, a VW Polo and Vauxhall Insignia, were involved in a shunt incident as a result.
Police said it is not believed there are any serious injuries, but two minor injuries.
But Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said three people were taken to hospital.
Although police say all lanes are open as the accident has been moved to the hard shoulder, passing drivers say the road all lanes are closed and there is a fire engine in the road.
There are significant tailbacks to at least the M3 turn off.
Recovery is on the scene and the council is clearing up spilled diesel.
