TWO men made a brief appearance at Southampton Crown Court in connection with a knife-related incident outside a city pub.
Michael Edwards, 24, of Waterloo Road, Southampton, and Shaun Bowers, 19, of Cateran Close, Southampton, were charged with affray.
The former is also charged with possessing a knife as an offensive weapon and the latter is charged with having a glass bottle in similar circumstances.
Neither entered a plea but defence lawyers indicated they would be denying the offences that allegedly occurred outside the Dorchester pub in Bevois Valley, and a trial date was set for October.
They had their cases adjourned until June 27 for them to formally enter their pleas. Edwards was further remanded in custody and Bowers had bail extended.
