A WOMAN had a lucky escape when her car left the road and ended up hanging over the edge of a bridge in Hampshire.
Emergency services attending the incident at Kimbridge arrived to find the car had gone through the bridge railings and came close to falling into the swollen and fast-flowing River Test about four feet below.
The lane which links the B3084 with the A3057 was closed for a time while the vehicle was recovered.
The unnamed woman was unhurt in the incident.
No other vehicles were involved.
Hampshire Highways were called in to inspect the bridge railings, which were buckled in the impact.
