A HAMPSHIRE pensioner has been conned of jewellery worth £1,000 by a man posing as a police officer.
The man tricked his way into the property in Winchester Road, Shirley, telling the 90-year-old woman he was a police officer investigating incidents of damage in the area.
He then searched the property and stole £40, a gold wedding ring and a white gold eternity ring with diamonds worth around £1000.
The man is described as white aged in his early 30s with short light brown hair.
He was smartly dressed and wearing a brown suit and tie.
Anyone with information should phone police on 0845 045 4545.
