AN Eastleigh teenager has been locked up for two years after his aunt shopped him to the police.

She called them when she suspected that James Ryves had drugs on him.

Prosecutor Ed Elton told Southampton Crown Court how she let an officer into her home, and when Ryves came downstairs, he was searched.

A small bag containing amphetamine sulphate was then found on him.

Ryves, 19, of Woodpecker Way, Eastleigh, admitted possession, which put him in breach of a 24-month suspended sentence for a knifepoint robbery and attempted robbery he had committed.

Ryves also admitted breaching the terms of the order by failing to turn up for a probation service supervision appointment and breaking a night time curfew on four occasions.

He further admitted failing to attend a court hearing, for which a judge issued a bench warrant.
