ONE of the first original British rock 'n' roll pioneers, Marty Wilde, will be making a return appearance to Bournemouth's Pavilion Theatre on May 10.
Between 1958 and 1962 Marty Wilde had thirteen consecutive hit records, including Endless Sleep, Donna, Teenager in Love, Sea of Love, Bad Boy, Rubber Ball, Little Girl, Jezebel and Tomorrow's Clown.
The 50s were without doubt some of the most formative years in British history, and certainly in a musical sense were the most exciting. With the sensational arrival of rock 'n' roll a whole new pop culture was born, and with it a fusion of sounds and rhythms that would shape the style of music that was listened to, and still is right up to the present day.
Still performing as many live dates as possible, Marty's live show provides dynamic evidence of the man's versatility and is true measure of how he can be judged as an artiste. With his famous band The Wildcats, Marty Wilde intends to tour for as long as is humanly possible.
Tickets: £15.50-£19.50. Box office: 0870 111 3000.
