THERE'S fun, adventure and some hidden treasure on offer this weekend.
The Dalian Players' pantomime, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves continues until Saturday at their regular venue of Woolston Methodist Hall.
As well as members of the Dalian Players the show also features the Roynon Dancers who have been taking part in the company's pantos for several years.
The show is quite a family affair; Sandra Franks takes centre stage as Ali Baba while her husband Nigel and his brother Andrew are the production's writers, directors and producers.
The production includes a number of Dalian regulars including Phil Jordan as the Dame and Michael Tosdeven as the Grand Vizier.
The Dalian Players always stage a panto in January and this production is as fun and lavish as ever.
It features beautiful costumes made by behind-the-scenes trouper Jackie Gates and impressive scenery made by Jill Richards.
The cave scene, in which Ali Baba discovers the treasure having uttered the magic words open sesame' is particularly impressive.
As well as performing a pantomime the amateur dramatics company also put on three plays each year.
They are planning for their next show to be a comedy which they are set to perform in March.
Shows are 7.30pm tonight and tomorrow with a 2.30pm matinee tomorrow. Tickets: £5. Box office: 023 8043 8596.
