A BACKLASH has forced council chiefs to stall a decision on a controversial laser show to be beamed out of Southampton.
Bosses had pinned their hopes on the four bright green beams finally being the answer to their long search to find the city's WOW factor.
They had planned to beam the lights from all corners of the civic centre which could be seen from miles around.
But an unprecedented response from environmentalists, stargazers, and angry taxpayers who were concerned about their money being wasted has put back the decision while it is examined in detail.
