PATIENTS of a surgery and dental clinic in Southampton will today be treated at a brand new care centre.
Clients of the Nicholstown GP Surgery and the Newtown Dental Clinic will now been seen at Southampton City PCT's Primary Care Delivery Centre based at the Royal South Hants Hospital (RSH).
The new centre forms part of the PCT's plans to provide local people with a healthcare campus based at the RSH site.
Kevin Liles, director of corporate services at the PCT, said: "We are delighted with the work that is happening at the RSH.
"The relocation of Nicholstown GP Surgery and the dental clinic into the primary care delivery centre is something we have been looking forward to.
"As time passes, work will continue at the RSH to achieve the Trust's aim of providing Southampton with a modern, 21st century, city centre healthcare campus."
Dr Cliff Howells of Nicholstown GP Surgery said: "All of our staff are delighted to move into these spacious and well-equipped facilities and we look forward to continuing to improve our services as well as the environment for our patients."
Mr Paul Howard, assistant clinical director of Southampton Personal Dental Service, which operates Newtown dental clinic, said: "Staff at the clinic are looking forward to moving to the RSH hospital and the new facilities where services will integrate with those already operated at the RSH.
"The new clinic will provide a modern and spacious environment for us to work in and for our patients to be treated."
