NO APOLOGIES for revisiting this Friday's dealer launch of the 2007 Yamaha R1, it's just a matter of where to start.
Everyone has a chance to win a new Yamaha R1, priced at £8,999, together with a set of Dainese leathers, a trip to the MotoGP in Catalunya, and a place on the 2007 All-Star Riders Course.
All you have to do is register at www.yamaha-motor.co.uk and nominate which Yam dealer you'll be at for Friday's launch night, then make sure you are there to see if you have won.
It's as simple as that, no difficult competitions or dreaming up a caption, just say where you'll be and make sure you are there. If you aren't and your name is called you'll always have the memory of nearly winning that top prize.
Also up for grabs is a second prize of a set of leathers and a day at VIP MotoGP riding event, a leather jacket and a day at VIP MotoGP riding event for third prize and a leather jacket and a day at the California Superbike School in UK for fourth place.
Local dealers Doug Dearden Motorcycles and Parkroad Powerbikes are also marking this important event with their own free prize draws.
Top prize at Parkroad is an AGV Ti-tech Rossi replica helmet (usual price £450) along with lots of other official goodies at both dealerships.
So what is all the fuss about?
The R1 has become an icon in the sportsbike world and a complete makeover and a host of technological innovations look set to make the 2007 R1 even more popular than ever.
The new Yamaha R1 creates a massive 186bhp across a fantastic spread of power due to the use of new technology, the world's first - on a mass production motorcycle - variable intake system.
Put simply, this decreases the intake duct length as revs increase, maximising performance through the entire rev range.
Using development gained from Rossi's MotoGP machine, the new R1 also features a computer-controlled throttle system that gives excellent, linear, responsive power delivery.
More race technology can be found in the engine's four-valve, super-efficient, cylinder head and the back-torque limiter (or slipper-clutch) as well as the dual adjustment hi/lo speed suspension system.
All that power is in an all-new Deltabox V frame for supreme handling and optimum rigidity balance. New suspension and new six-pot brake callipers complete the set up.
