WINCHESTER will get a taste of the Subway experience after the sandwich giant let a shop in the High Street.
Property agents Goadsby, which claims to be the largest retail agent on the south coast, put the deal together on behalf of the London Henley Group of companies.
Subway Realty Limited took a 15 year lease on the three- storey shop at a rental of £34,000 per year.
One of the fastest growing retailers in the region, Subway has 51 stores in the Meridian TV broadcasting area and plans to open more.
There are more than 841 stores now open and across the UK and Ireland the chain plans to open a further 1,350 outlets over the next four years, creating a further 13,000 jobs with an investment of more than £130m.
The Winchester property is now being refurbished and is planned to open to the public on January 31.
