HEALTH chiefs have confirmed that 30 computers stolen from a former hospital site in Hampshire may have contained confidential information about patients.
Staff had been told to remove any sensitive data from the hard drives - but the equipment was stolen before checks could be carried out.
The computers were stolen from the old infirmary at East Hill, Lymington, on the night of January 2.
A Hampshire Primary Care Trust spokesman said: "We cannot guarantee that all data was removed completely from every hard drive and that no information about individuals was contained on them.
"The extent and nature of any data that may have been on the stolen machines is still being investigated."
