LIFE drawing may be a tough discipline, but you’ll be in friendly company if you’re a newbie, says one Taunton group.
Norman Steel, organiser of a regular life drawing team at St George’s Church in Fons George, Taunton, is inviting new members to try out their skills with his gang.
Taunton Flower 2013’s artist-in-residence said: “Life drawing and life studies for the artist are the equivalent of the scales and arpeggios a musician will play as part of his or her rehearsal.
“It enables one to produce works of honesty and integrity, and impacts on all aspects of that process, from colour selection to mark making.
“As with many other artists I find it an almost essential preparatory tool.”
The artists meet on the second and fourth Fridays of the month between 9.30am and noon and sessions cost £7.50 – email Norman on norman.steel@sky.com
