TWO Southampton-based brothers who run a leading handyman business have pledged to deliver their services free-of-charge to a local charity.

James and Chris Dean, who jointly run Toolbox Buddy, will come to the rescue when Wessex Heartbeat needs maintenance and repair jobs doing at Rotary Heartbeat House.

The house, next to Southamp-ton General Hospital, offers a free home-from-home for up to 34 relatives whilst loved ones are being treated in the Wessex Cardiac Centre.

Sue Chopping, the house's general manager, said: "We're delighted that Toolbox Buddy has come to our aid. They're very reliable and get jobs done quickly, which is a big help to the smooth running of our house.

"We've struggled to find tradesmen who want to do the little jobs - like mending a dripping tap, fixing guttering and putting up shelves."

The brothers, who started Toolbox Buddy more than a year ago, were keen to help a local charity.

Chris and James, who were brought up in Southampton, explained: "Most people we know contribute to charity in some way, so when we set up the business, we felt that the company had an equivalent social responsibility to serve the community."

Alan Blair of Wessex Heartbeat said it was a wonderful gesture.
