SENTIMENTAL and valuable jewelley and £3,500 cash was stolen during a burglary at a Hampshire home - including the ashes of the victim's father.
A thin bangle with a solid heart containing some of the victim's father's ashes and the word 'dad' engraved on it was stolen, along with a wallet worth £450 and a Tissot wristwatch worth £500.
A French door was smashed at the back of the property on Hengistbury Road, New Milton, before items worth £2,000 including a bracelet, earrings and the bangle.
Police are appealing for information after the break-in, which happened between 9am on Wednesday, August 6, and 1.30pm on Sunday, August 10.
PC Olly Maidment said: "This burglary has caused a great deal of distress to the family, particularly due to the jewellery that was stolen which is of significant sentimental value.
"The bangle that was stolen had been customised and had some of the victim's father's ashes inside the heart."
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact PC Maidment by calling 101 and asking for Lyndhurst police station or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
