A TEENAGER rigged up a camera so he could record and view pictures of a semi-naked girl with whom he was infatuated.
Adam Robinson had been taken in by a Hampshire family because he was homeless over Christmas and the girl used to visit them from time to time.
However, on two occasions, he recorded the girl topless as she was changing in the bathroom.
Robinson, of Emsworth Road, Shirley, Southampton, admitted two counts of voyeurism and was jailed for four months.
The city crown court heard the offences happened some five years ago when he was 17 and before he went to live in California where he was subsequently jailed for having sex with an under-age girl.
Prosecutor Michael Forster said the offences came to light when he was arrested on his arrival back in Britain and his laptop computers were examined and found to contain the two clips of the film.
Mr Forster said Robinson, now 23, had been obsessed with the then 13-year-old and had once bombarded her with 300 text messages on one day.
In a personal statement, the victim described how Robinson would leave anonymous presents for her and his behaviour was unwanted. The fact he had gained sexual gratification from viewing her had also disgusted her, she added.
Passing sentence, Judge Nicholas Rowland said the offences were premeditated and involved a significant degree of planning.
In addition to the jail terms, Robinson was placed on the sex offenders register for ten years and made the subject of a sex offenders prevention order indefinitely.
