A HAMPSHIRE teenager has been killed in a head-on crash between a lorry and a car on a main road.
The collision happened on the A32 between Fareham and Wickham at 3am and fire, police and ambulance services were called to the scene.
A black Vauxhall Corsa and a white Scania HGV were involved in a collision while travelling in the opposite direction, with both vehicles sustaining severe damage.
South Central Ambulance Service mobilised two ambulance crews and a rapid response vehicle, but a Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman confirmed that the driver of the Corsa, a 19-year-old man from Soberton, died at the scene.
The driver of the lorry, a 52-year-old man from Southampton, sustained chest injuries and was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
The crash has caused major traffic disruption and Hampshire Constabulary said the road would be closed until at least midday.
The A32 has been closed in both directions between the M27 junction 10 at Wickham and the A334 Fareham Road.
Junction 10 of the M27 westbound has also been closed, with a diversion via the M27 junction 9 A3051 through Burridge and Shedfield.
The road remained closed for the majority of the day. At 6pm, police confirmed it had fully reopened.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101.
