OWSLEBURY Parish Council is to set up a new speedwatch team following concerns about speeding vehicles.
Following complaints about fast cars the council asked residents for examples to develop a database for Hampshire Constabulary and traffic authorites.
Now they are hoping to launch a similar model to that of neighbouring Twyford which has proved fairly successful in recent years.
Michael Cleary, parish council clerk, said: “Initially speedwatch will be quite limited in its scope but if we are successful in our discussions with the traffic authorities we would hope to be able to extend it in time to the main routes in the parish.”
Speedwatch volunteers will be trained, insured and provided with all necessary equipment.
