Warning as bogus cold callers strike
NEW Forest residents are being warned of the dangers of cold callers after a number of bogus calls.
Several people living in the Lyndhurst area have reported calls from individuals claiming to be working on the Solent Green Deal scheme and asking for householders’ details.
The callers do not represent New Forest District Council or Solent Green Deal and all residents receiving cold calls are asked to report it to the police.
Neither the council nor the Green Deal scheme use cold callers and all council staff carry formal identification with them.
Anyone who has received a cold call can report it to Hampshire Constabulary on 101.
