A HAMPSHIRE pub welcomed two extremely popular guests as part of its charity fundraiser.
Children’s story characters The Gruffalo and The Mouse made an appearance at the Vintage Style Family Day at Titchfield Mill, near Fareham, which attracted about 200 people on Saturday.
The day, which raised funds for the Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity, included balloon modelling, an inflatable slide, a Pimm’s tent set up by the pub, glitter tattoos, tarot readings, gift and craft stalls and a raffle.
The Pimm’s tent alone raised more than £100.
Sean Neagus, deputy manager, said that The Gruffalo characters were the undoubted attraction.
“That’s what everone was there for, from the look of it – it was very popular,” he said, adding that the pub was looking forward to doing a similar fundraiser for the charity in November.
