A LEISURE centre has been recognised for quality for the second time in a row.
Fareham Leisure Centre has been ranked outstanding by a quality assessor for sport and leisure, repeating the accolade it was given two years ago.
Only one other centre has achieved outstanding status in the Quest Stretch quality assessment scheme, and Fareham Leisure Centre is the only centre to achieve it twice.
The assessment looks at everything from hygiene and cleanliness of the centre to the quality of its services, taking into account customer and stakeholder views as well as the results of two mystery visits and an unannounced assessment.
The leisure centre, which is operated by Everyone Active on behalf of Fareham Borough Council, is undergoing a £1.5m renovation programme to improve the wet areas, reception and the exterior of the building, which is due to finish next month.
