POLICE are hunting a man who knocked out a taxi driver in a late-night assault.
The 28-year-old victim was allegedly assaulted at the junction of Mansbridge Road and Howard Close in Swaythling.
The man was found by a colleague and taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment after the incident, which happened between 12.30am and 1.30am on Sunday, August 17.
Police say the man, who may be able to help with their enquiries, is white and in his late twenties or early thirties, around six feet tall, has short dark hair, and was wearing a navy blue t-shirt and dark jeans.
The incident came just two days before a taxi driver was allegedly stabbed in the leg near Southampton Central Station.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 101 and ask to speak to police sergeant Neville Stokes.
