A TEENAGER has bravely given up her hair for a cause close to her heart.
Fourteen-year-old Ada-May Haddon had her locks lopped off in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
The teenager was supported by family and friends as she underwent the chop at Hoglands Park, Southampton, on Saturday.
Ada-May, of Spring Road, Sholing, chose the charity because members of her family have had cancer.
She had planned to follow in her mother and her partner’s footsteps by doing a sponsored skydive but when she found out she was too young she decided on the hair cut instead.
“I wanted to do something that not everyone does everyday – anyone can sit in a bath of beans,” said the Chamberlayne College pupil.
“At such a young age I think it’s good that I did it.
“It was scary, but i just thought I’m doing it for a good cause.”
Mother Donna Haddon, 34, said she was “very proud” of her daughter.
